Rule Of Thirds
The rule of thirds is to make a photo more balanced, so there are guide lines to follow. The grid is divided into nine parts, breaking it down into thirds (a hint to why its called Rule of thirds). Make sure that an eye is sitting on a fixed point, where two lines make a cross.
180-degree Rule
The 180-degree rule is when you keep the camera on one side of two characters and maintain that same relationship of left or right. Most of the time people tend to use the right-hand side but it really depends on where and how the characters are standing. This is important because it gives you different point of views of the same scene, as the camera moves 180 degrees, it shows the characters as individuals and the whole scene, it just makes the scene smooth and isn't boring, as if you just had the camera facing forward and stays still, with 180 degree rule the camera moves and you can take different angles of the same scene.
Indoor Interview Set-up
Using the 180-degree rule, one camera focused on the interviewer which was on the left side of him. Using the rule of thirds to make sure that he was in position and that we could get a wide and close up shot, the rule of thirds was very useful for the close up shot.
