Horror Genre
Primary research:
For primary research, we used a survey to ask others about their opinions on horror films.
Even though we only had seven people who took the survey, what we found out is a lot more people like horror films as 57% like them but 42% don't. Not a lot of people like Gore, which is horror films that could include a lot of blood. No one chose horror books as their favourite but overall a horror film is quite popular. On the question 'Do you find horror scary?' only 14% said they love to be scared but for the next three choices it was all equal around 28% either said 'Yes but I enjoy them' or 'I do hate watching them' or 'I do and will watch one if I had too'.

-Locations and settings (a lot of horror films use places that are abandoned and are quite large, for example country homes or fields)
-Sounds used (this could be background sounds, to hint what is happening, for an example having an owl noise would indicate that it's nighttime. Having music that makes the scene more intense, which is very fitting for a horror film)
-Weather (having a cloudy, dark day is always best. Having poor weather really sets the scene, it makes it dark and that is a key use in every horror film)

We watch violent films and play violent video games to release the feeling of aggression, watching a violent horror film can be a good way for people to release their stress. We are also very curious and love to be shocked, watching a horror film with jump-scares is something we love because we like the adrenaline rush.
